Do you like the look of a fireplace in your home but can’t afford the update?

This was the story of my mom’s life until she married my stepdad. He built his home with a massive fireplace in it.

I wish I had known about faux fireplaces growing up. I would’ve shared the idea with her. Though it may be too late to add the look to my childhood home, it isn’t too late for you.

You can create a faux fireplace to get the perfect farmhouse look without a ton of expense. Here are a few ideas to get you started with fabulous faux fireplaces:

1. The Christmas Faux Fireplace

Do you want a fireplace around Christmas but could care less if you have the look the rest of the year? We all need a place to hang our stockings, right?

You can create this faux fireplace set-up in only a couple of days and create the perfect farmhouse Christmas setting.

4. Mantel of Your Dreams

Everyone in my family had a home with fireplaces in them. My grandparent’s home had two! I look back on it and find it odd they didn’t use either of their fireplaces. They were more for decoration.

If you don’t desire wood heat but love the look of a fireplace with a gorgeous mantel, skip the fireplace and create the mantel of your dreams. This person transformed an inexpensive secondhand mantel into a masterpiece.

Before we invested in a woodstove, there was a time I considered investing in an electric fireplace. I wanted the look at the time more than we needed the warmth.

I’m in love with this idea. If I ever have room to pull this off in my own home, I will. I’m a fan of woodstoves more than fireplaces.
