It was a crisp fall day, and I was only about 5 years old. Our class had taken a field trip to the local apple orchard. We had so much fun looking at all of the apples.

Then we got to tour where they made their very own apple cider. It smelled so delicious. My mother had sent me with a little bit of money so I purchased some cider to take home with me.

When I got home, my great grandmother was there waiting for me to get off of the bus. I showed her the cider, and I remember we drank a glass together.

To this day, every time I see apple cider, I think of her because I remember we shared cider together many times after that.

So I’m going to share with you some plans where you can build your own apple cider press and make your own precious memories just like what I have now to remember my great grandmother by.

Easy to Follow Cider Press Plans

1. Apple Cider Press with Grinder

Fall is upon us so you know apple season is coming along with it. You’ll need a great cider press to help you make some delicious homemade apple cider.

So why not consider building this press. It has a grinder to make your life a little easier as well.

Also, it has in-depth instructions along with helpful pictures too. If you need a simple build for a functional cider press, then you might want to consider building this one.

2. Small Homebuilt Cider Press

Do you enjoy fresh apple cider each fall? If so, then you will definitely want your very own cider press. But why buy one when you can build your own?

So if you have made up your mind to build your own DIY cider press, then you’ll want to take a look at these plans.

Not only are they detailed and have lots of great pictures, but it is for a smaller cider press so it won’t be bulky and in the way when not in use.

3. Whizbang Apple Grinder and Cider Press

This cider press should catch your attention by the name alone. Don’t you love that word-Whizbang? It reminds me of a television show my youngest child watches.

But anyway, this cider press sure appears to be whizbang. It grinds your apples right into delicious cider. It looks like a sturdy build as well.

However, these plans are not free. You have to actually order them, but the site offers pictures of what the cider press will look like if you follow the instructions.

4. Mother Earth’s Cider Press

We are a big fan of Mother Earth News around here. It is a publication that has been around for many, many years and has a lot of quality information.

So why should this cider press be any different? This publication offers quality instructions on how to build this cider press and it is all free.

Which means, if you’d like a quality cider press on a budget, then you will want to check out these plans.

5. The Industrial Cider Press

This cider press looks like it came to get down to business. When you see how industrial it looks, you’ll never believe it is homemade.

But it is. The site has the materials list and pictures to prove it.

Yet, they don’t stop there. They even give you an in depth tutorial on how to properly use it so you can get the most out of your apple harvest this year.

6. Car Jack Powered Cider Press

This cider press is one that will take a little foreknowledge before you begin to build. What I mean is that there is no tutorial.

So you’ll need to have some carpentry skills that will allow you to look at a picture and build from there. If you have that kind of skill, then you’ll love this cider press.

According to the caption, this cider press is actually powered by a car jack. That is pretty awesome if you ask me.

7. The Genius DIY Apple Press

I love this tutorial for his apple press. They give you everything you need in baby steps. It all begins with a detailed materials list that appears to be accompanied by hyperlinks, which should lead you to the site where you can actually purchase the materials.

Then they show you a hand drawing of their design for a cider press. Which then will lead you through the entire process of building this press.

Not to mention, they give you quality photos to help you along with the build as well for those (like myself) that are more visual learners.

8. Single Tub Fruit Press

This isn’t a plan for an apple press. It is actually a link to one of the most amazing stores, if you ask me, so you can easily buy a cider press.

So why did I include this?

Well, because some people don’t have the time to build a cider press, and some people just prefer to buy things. We are not linked to this store in any way so be sure to do your research.

But in my own experience, they’ve been great to deal with.

9. Build Your Own Fruit Press

This is an old school tutorial for building a fruit press. It actually reminds me of some of my grandfather’s woodworking books that he used to read all of the time.

Either way, the plans are very detailed, and the instructions are very thorough as well.

So if you need an easy to follow tutorial for building this cider press, then you should consider checking out this one.
