Do you enjoy the festivities of St. Patrick’s Day?
When I was a little girl, my mom would go all out. I’m a redhead, and we have Irish blood in our family.
Therefore, St. Patrick’s Day is a fun time to celebrate, and I looked forward to this holiday each year.
As I’ve gotten older, the festivities have changed. The green punch has now turned into green beer. If you like indulging in festive green drinks on St. Patrick’s Day you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to share a few options for green drinks you can serve your friends.
Here is a selection of green drinks you should know about to celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day:
1. Green Beer
Since I’ve already mentioned it, let’s dive right into how to make green beer. If you don’t feel like fighting the crowds, thanks to this recipe, you won’t have to.
Instead, pour yourself a glass of your favorite light-colored beer. Add a few drops of green food coloring, and you’re ready to get the party started.
2. Spruce Beer
This beer doesn’t look like a festive type of beer, but it’s the perfect beer for the season of St. Patrick’s Day.
You use spruce tips in the beer making process. It’s a homemade and unique beverage your friends will be glad to try out on St. Patrick’s Day.
3. Matcha Beer
Are you looking for a green beer? Are you preferring to stick with a natural method to make your green beer?
You have found it. The matcha is what will make this beer turn green. It has a unique flavor and is festive too.
4. St. Patrick’s Day Punch
Though this punch looks kid-friendly, don’t let it fool you. It has lime sherbet, ginger ale, pineapple juice, and lemon or lime slices.
But it also calls for two bottles of champagne. You can leave the champagne out if you like, but if you’re hosting adults, they may enjoy the green punch instead of green beer.
5. Green Apple Vodka Cocktail
This flashy green drink is simple to make and requires only a few basic ingredients. Yet, it looks amazingly festive.
If you have honeycrisp vodka, melon liqueur, green apple syrup, and apple flavored soda, you have all you need to whip up this drink.
6. Melon Whiskey Sour
If you’re looking for a simple drink which will put you in the mood to celebrate St. Patty’s Day, you’ve found the right one.
You’ll need sweet and sour mix, Melon Midori, White Whiskey, and some ginger ale to make it a little more palatable.
7. St. Patrick’s Day Green Margaritas
I’m a margarita girl. When we head to the Mexican restaurant on Friday nights, I can’t resist because they’re delicious.
If you’d like to stick with a margarita on St. Patrick’s Day, you’re going to love this simple and fun recipe. It does include green food coloring to make it a little more over the top.
8. The Shamrock Sour
This drink sounds delicious! It starts with lemon and lime juice. You mix it with easy to make simple syrup.
Finish the drink off with Irish whiskey and green food coloring to make this delectable drink pop out in a crowd.
9. The Green Dinosaur
This may not sound much like St. Patrick’s Day, but the colors certainly look like they belong with the celebration.
Pull out the tequila, vodka, and rum to make this drink. It’s finished off with lemonade and Midori. It’ll be hard to only drink one.
10. The Green Bloody Mary
Do you enjoy a traditional Bloody Mary over brunch? Save the traditional version for any other day of the year.
When St. Patrick’s Day rolls around, make this festive and spicy version instead. The ingredients include tomatillos, jalapenos, cucumbers, yellow tomatoes, vodka, and much more.
11. The Green Hawaiian
Have you ever had a blue Hawaiian? I hadn’t until last week. I went out of town to visit my parents, and we went to this quaint brewery. While I was there, I thought it sounded good and ordered a Blue Hawaiian.
This green Hawaiian is a play on the blue version. It has three different types of alcohol along with pineapple juice and lemon-lime soda.
12. Shamrock Juice Cocktail
If you’re someone who prefers a fruitier drink to the taste of alcohol this may not be your beverage. This drink has gin, tequila, vodka, rum, and blue curacao.
The last ingredient is orange juice. It may help simmer the drink down a little, but I’d be prepared for a little kick when you take the first sip of this one.
13. Avocado Margaritas
Are margaritas your thing, but you’d like a natural way to turn them into green drinks? Consider an avocado margarita.
This drink contains avocado, tequila, lime juice, triple sec, jalapeno, and cilantro. This mixture of flavors could be the most delicious way you’ve celebrated St. Patrick’s Day yet.
14. Kiwi Colada Green Drinks
Do you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain? If you answered, “yes!” this is the drink for you this St. Patrick’s Day.
It’s a naturally green drink because of the kiwi. It also includes rum, Midori liqueur, pineapple juice, and a few other favorites.
15. Naturally Green Beer
If you’re more about good health than you are the beer, this recipe could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
Instead of changing your beer’s color with green food coloring, follow this recipe and use wheatgrass to turn your beer green and get a health boost.
16. Sparkling Green Sangria
Many of my friends love sangria which is why I'm drawn to it. I’m a snob when it comes to certain drinks because I like fresh flavors.
This drink seems to have it all and would be a great choice for a St. Patty’s Day Girl’s Night. It’s made with Moscato wine, triple sec, cucumbers, green grapes, granny smith apples, lemons, limes, and club soda. It sounds delicious!
17. Two-Ingredient Green Punch
Are you having a few friends over on St. Patrick’s Day in a more relaxed environment? Maybe you don’t feel like putting together fancier green drinks, or perhaps you aren’t into drinking alcohol.
Instead, reach for this drink option. It has only two ingredients and looks delicious and is a non-alcoholic option. It requires only lime sherbet and lemon lime soda. Of course, you can add some alcohol if desired for your own twist.
18. St. Patrick’s Day Jell-O Shots
This drink option requires some prep work before your party starts, but if you’ve ever had a Jell-O shot, you know they’re worth it.
Basically, you mix up lemon-lime Jell-O and mix it with Irish whiskey. Allow this to gel together and take the shots when done. They’re delicious and fun too!
19. The Shamrock Shake
This may not be a fancy drink you’d serve at a swanky get together on St. Patrick’s Day, but it had to be shared.
Every year in March if you hit the McDonald’s Drive-Thru you know what’s coming back, this Shamrock Shake. Now, thanks to this recipe, you can make your own green drinks at home, share it with friends, and don’t have to wait for St. Patrick’s Day to get your fix. You’re welcome.
You now have 19 different green drinks to enjoy by yourself or with friends on St. Patrick’s Day. Some contain alcohol, and some don’t.
Therefore, there should be something there for everyone. The bottom line is we hope you have a fabulous St. Patrick’s Day, drink responsibly (if you’re drinking), and enjoy the festivities.
